Stress is inevitable, it’s how we deal with it that matters. Here are some tips!
Everyone experiences stress. It’s a natural physical and mental reaction to what’s happening in our lives and in the world. Anything from daily responsibilities like work and family, to more serious things such as a health issue or the death of a loved one can trigger stress. When we get stressed our body releases hormones that increase our heart rate. Getting stressed can definitely affect overall wellbeing, and depression, headaches, and anxiety are just some of the manifestations of stress.
The great news (of course, there is!) is there are ways to cope with stress and feel much better, maybe even cheery! Doing these easy relief tips will help you manage stress and lower your health risks.
Accept there are situations you cannot control. Many of us like to be in control and know exactly how things will pan out. But the truth is, we have no control over many things. What we can control is how we react. Once we accept this reality, it’s easier to deal with these stressful situations or people. Focus your energy on the things you can control, this way you’ll be much more effective. Use Citrus Fresh to keep you energized and focused. Release is also another oil that you can use multiple times a day to help release toxic emotions and feelings of bitterness and anger. Valor, the courage and bravery oil, will help you start each morning with a positive outlook and re-focus at the end of a challenging day.

Exercise. Scientific studies show exercise reduces the body’s stress hormones, adrenaline and cortisol, and stimulates the production of endorphins or the chemicals in the brain that act as the body’s natural painkillers and mood elevators. Ever notice how you feel so great after a workout? That’s because of the endorphins aka happy hormones your body produces. They are responsible for good vibes that accompany challenging workouts. After a good sweat, you can use Panaway to soothe tired muscles.
Make time for your hobbies and interests. Having a little Me Time to do the things that make you happy is a must. It will help you unwind. If you’re always busy with work and other tasks, your brain doesn’t have the time to reboot itself. When you take a few minutes to be by yourself doing things you love, with no distractions, you can clear and refresh your mind. Place a drop of Frankincense at the back of your neck or the top of your head during your Me Time moments. Also try Stress Away, it does a magical job of melting tension when it’s applied to the neck. If you are dealing with sadness, Joy on your wrists and over your heart will make you feel alive and help you focus on your purpose.

Breath to help beat stress. Many people have unintentionally become shallow breathers, a mindless breathing pattern where you inhale through the mouth, hold the breath, and take in less air. Long-term shallow breathing can actually keep the body in a cycle of stress, affecting both your mental to physical health. Be mindful of your breath. Breathing exercises can help you relax, because they make your body feel like it does when you’re already relaxed. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body. Try using Peppermint or Raven for your breathing exercises. Peace and Calming also works wonders in dealing with stress.
