These easy-to-do every day habits will surely make a big impact on your health and wellbeing.
The health of our family is our top priority. As most moms experience, we are often too busy taking care of the rest of the family that we “postpone” taking care of our own health, when in fact we need to be at our best! I’ve rounded up five small, daily habits that have helped me. These are simple things you can do every day for your health and wellbeing.
1. DRINK UP!
Water is amazing! I love it for drinking, but did you know its functions are to nurture, hydrate, moisturize, cleanse, and even heal? When some water cells become too stagnant or stuck in certain areas of our body, they can become unhealthy and even transform into stones or cysts that reflect frozen energy. Water along with oxygen and vital energy nurture and rejuvenate each cell of our body. When you’re sipping your agua, imagine it entering your body and making each cell come alive! Water is the source of life (literally!). It’s true what they say, drink at least eight glasses of water a day, if you can drink more, better! You can add a drop of Lemon or Grapefruit Vitality for a refreshing twist. I suggest starting your day with a liter of room temperature water to get you going.

2. DIFFUSE
At first, I used to think diffusing was simply to make a space smell better. Sure, it does, but that’s just one of the many benefits (and that’s a whole other blog entry!). Diffusing essential oils can lift your mood, improve breathing, boost your immune system, concentration, and memory, heighten your creativity, and also control your appetite. At home, I like having Lemon diffused in the kitchen to set a cheery vibe. There’s one oil I diffuse 24/7, take a guess…it’s Thieves, the all-around health, strength, and immunity bomb! This magical oil supports a strong immune system.

3. REST WELL
Sleep is sacred. It has been proven by research, and doctors have stated that regular sleep aids in keeping the mind and body in good shape. But we already know this, right? Now comes the challenging part, the actual sleeping. What helps me sleep better is Lavender. It also keeps my kiddos knocked out at night, so I have more time to watch my K-dramas! Another habit that makes me sleep better is ditching my phone 30 minutes before I sleep. I learned that the light emitted from our phone screen restrains the production of melatonin, the hormone that controls your sleep-wake cycle. I’ve also noticed that when I use my phone right before sleeping, it’s more difficult to fall asleep and wake up the next day.

4. SIT STILL
More and more people have started a meditation practice. At first, the thought of sitting in a lotus pose for hours sounds intimidating, and it is! Meditation is quite simple. The first step is to release all judgements. So whether you’re meditating on your home office chair for five minutes daily or sitting on your yoga mat at dawn for an hour, you are doing your wellbeing lots of good. Try this: Find a comfortable seated position, place your hands on your lap with your palms facing upward, and close your eyes. Try diffusing Frankincense or Lavender. The former creates a safe and comforting environment, particularly when you are seeking purpose or engaged in meditation while the latter helps you relax. Millions of thoughts will drift through the mind. The intention is not to get involved with the thoughts or to judge them, but simply to be aware. Over time, you can become more aware of the human tendency to quickly judge an experience as good or bad, pleasant or unpleasant. With this practice, inner balance, focus, and mindfulness develops.
5. MOVE YOUR BODY
Do morning stretches, take a 20-minute walk, go for a run, try HIIT at home. Whatever you choose, move, every single day. There are so many apps and workouts online that excuses don’t stand a chance. You don’t have to be a super athlete, simply move and sweat. When you do, happy hormones are released by your body. Taking a minimum of 20 minutes each day to move and care for your body will change your whole perspective. Start your workout by diffusing Lemon. It’s bright aroma will keep you focused and motivated. To help you cool down after you do your exercises, use Peppermint oil.
